Європейська Комісія розглядає можливість уступок перед Угорщиною для остаточного узгодження пакету допомоги для України у розмірі 50 мільярдів євро. Інформація ця має відображення в матеріалі The Financial Times.
За інформацією видання, анонімні джерела розповіли, що Брюссель намагається вирішити фінансові труднощі та досягти консенсусу, оскільки проблема вето Угорщини набуває доколосяжної актуальності. Затримка прийняття рішення про підтримку Києва в Конгресі США та інтенсивізація російської агресії в Україні роблять ситуацію ще більш обтяжливою.
Зараз Єврокомісія намагається досягти угоди з прем’єр-міністром Угорщини Віктором Орбаном для забезпечення реалізації фінансової допомоги від Європи.
Троє анонімних посадовців, знайомих із ситуацією, стверджують, що ЄС готовий надати Угорщині можливість призупинити фінансову підтримку України у середині шляху у 2025 році. У свою чергу, Віктор Орбан повинен відмовитися від вето.
Зазначається, що потенційний компроміс передбачає перегляд чотирирічного пакета підтримки наступного року, щоб оцінити необхідність фінансування для України та її виконання вимог. Будапешт матиме можливість накласти вето на продовження фінансування в майбутньому.
Крім цього, Європейська комісія готова проводити щорічні аудити допомоги з пунктом “екстреного гальмування”, що дозволить кожній країні висловлювати свої застереження на саміті лідерів ЄС. Одночасно Угорщині не буде можливості накладати вето на фінансову допомогу.
