Українські захисники не втрачають своєї рішучості боротися за рідну землю, проте їм не вистачає боєприпасів. Конгрес США повинен негайно схвалити виділення допомоги відповідно до запиту президента Джо Байдена.
Про це повідомляє РБК-Україна із посиланням на лідера більшості в Сенаті США Чака Шумера.
Війна в Україні стає ключовим конфліктом, який змінює хід світової історії. Шумер висловив погляд, що сучасна ситуація не полягає лише в обороні однієї нації від іншої, а й у протистоянні тиранії та демократії.
Лідер демократів наголосив на тому, що важливо надавати допомогу Україні вчасно, оскільки країна переживає критичний момент у своїй боротьбі проти РФ.
“Українські бійці лишаються рішучими та не втрачають волі захищати свою батьківщину. Але їм не вистачає боєприпасів та озброєння, роль у забезпеченні якого Америка відіграє важливу роль”, – зазначив Шумер.
Лідер демократів також застеріг, що в разі відмови Сенату у збільшенні допомоги, хід війни може швидко перейти на користь РФ, яка вже зараз випереджає за рахунком засобів.
“На кожні п’ять вистрілів російських сил, наші бійці можуть відповідати тільки одним вистрілом. І це відбувається через нестачу озброєнь”, – додав Шумер.
Щодо ризиків відмови у наданні допомоги для України, політик зауважив, що такий варіант може призвести до загострення ситуації та зміни військових балансів на користь Росії.
За його словами, на сучасному етапі важливо діяти швидко, оскільки Україна стоїть перед небезпечним викликом у своїй боротьбі проти Росії.
Шумер закликав своїх колег сенаторів продовжувати діяти відповідально, наголошуючи на тому, що вони виступають не тільки на користь України, а й на користь збереження демократії в світі.
На завершення він відзначив, що нинішня війна в Україні стала вирішальним моментом світової історії, який може визначити майбутнє демократії та стійкість принципів свободи в сучасному світі.
